The next chapter

Since I last wrote on here, lots has happened! Whenever I first start a season I’m always thinking of all the positives, the races I’m going to, seeing all my friends, the travel etc but doing things on a shoestring doesn’t exactly leave much room for mishaps, the fines, stolen bikes, the new gold particle filled diesel at over a quid a litre all make there way onto my bank statement! This season I had originally set out to travel throughout Europe and make my way to Canada as well, in reality I spent the early season out in the sun of Spain and Portugal which was so sick, made it to the first few euro world cups and then realised I didn’t budget enough for the amount of Mcdonalds I’d been eating! So after Andorra (mid May) I’ve been back in good old England turning white and trying to save some money for the 2nd half of the season. To tell you the truth though the riding has been mint, riding bmx, moto and of course downhill on tracks that are nothing like anything else I’ve seen in the world, so tight and steep your struggling to slow down enough with 4 fingers covering both brakes and your feet dragging, Thanks to Bond- master track builder! The pump tracks have also been hit hard with regular sessions at windmill park in Macclesfield, Crewe, Chester, Wrexham and the new one at Llandegla. On top of the riding I’ve been doing I’ve still got to a few races, the nationals at Llangollen and Fort William were both really good and the levels so high its good to see! My bro also made the podium at Llangollen on a borrowed MSC he’d only ridden that weekend. Also made it over to Maribor, A bit gutted I didn’t qualify there after a bunch of mistakes but the track was so cool, the girls are FIT, weather was normally good and just Eastern Europe has something about it!

Fort William NPS

Moving on now though, I’m just delaying my set off to the National Champs by writing this but that should be a good weekend and I hope I can beat some of the locals! When I get back I’m off to Canada, it’s the first time I will have been out of Europe and I’m really excited about it, I wasn’t going to go until literally Tuesday and my uncle got me a return flight for £200 so thought it would be rude not to. I’m still trying to piece together the whole trip, I’ve got my flight, two entries and accommodation at MSA. Just need transport and Bromont accommodation but sure it will all work out!
