I was down in Brighton the other week for a meeting about a mtb project I’m working on this winter (more about that later) , I must have been up in the office for 20 minutes doing the usual greetings and stuff when I was told I need to put a permit in my van as they do clamp vehicles without them. So you know what’s coming next aye…
Yep, 20 minutes and the ba*&%rds had already slammed one on her. No problem I thought, gave them a ring told them I was there on business and to come and let her out. ‘ yes fine sir we’ll come round now, it’ll be a £120 release fee’ yeah get stuffed!
After some debating we decided not to give into the jobsworths, so me and Chris Moran set about borrowing some tools from the local backstreet garage and dismantling my ball joint to get the clamp off. Two hours later, a load of oil and sweat and it was off and my van was back on the road, it was a sod of a job but much sweeter than handing over cash to those thieving gits. Thank god they don’t clamp vehicles in Wales!
