A custom wheel build can make an absolute world of difference to a bike, as this particular setup proves.

These hand built wheels have been picked for two reasons really. Firstly that we should never underestimate what a skilled wheel builder can bring to the table, and secondly because these are quite simply excellent products. Dirt tester Steve Jones rode a set of these wheels on Danny Hart’s bike, back to back with stock wheels, and the difference was night and day. The hubs in particular might not look flashy or be the obvious choice, but they weigh next to nothing and are exceptionally well made. So yeah maybe they don’t look that special but the reality is they are, they just don’t need to shout about it. If you spot a set of these hubs on a bike you know the owner knows their kit.
