Nothing makes a difference to your trail bike like an adjustable seatpost. It’s one of those things like when you first try Five Ten soles or suspension, and you think ‘what the hell have I been doing all his time!’ It just makes sense on every level and I’m sure that in five years time every bike will be running them. As it currently stands though none of the offerings are perfect, and our UK conditions prove too much for the seals on most of these posts. The Pure Racing one has been on test for a while now and is still working away where others have jammed up, and considering it is cheaper than the competition it wins on both fronts. It also offers up to 5” adjustability (other brands offer 3 – 4”) which as a taller rider I have found is what I need to get the most advantage out of the post. Available as a lever adjustable model or the full hands on the bars remote set up, which is worth the extra cash in our opinion.
