Trek unveil two new 29″ bikes – The Remedy and Fuel EX

Another two big wheeled bikes have been unveiled to the market this time released by Trek, the Remedy 29 and Fuel EX 29. The bikes are very similar to their smaller wheeled siblings, but with slight geometry changes for the 29″ wheels. The Fuel EX 29 comes in with a carbon frame option whereas the Remedy 29 doesn’t. Although you will need deep pockets to truly upgrade your bike, one of the paint jobs costs $892.49, from the standard colour.

Press Release:

Trek Bicycle today launched two all-new platforms in the Fuel EX 29 and Remedy 29, marrying the industry-leading technologies of Trek’s full-suspension lineup with the legacy and laser-precise handling of Gary Fisher’s 29er-specific G2 geometry. The results are a trail bike and an enduro bike that inspire confidence and retain incredible handling even in the roughest terrain.

Fuel EX 29

The ground-up redesigns bring big benefits to big wheels with Trek’s proven suspension technology. The patented Active Braking Pivot (ABP) minimizes braking force on suspension performance, ensuring riders have traction when they need it most, and Trek-exclusive Dual-rate Control Valve (DRCV) shocks give small-bump compliance with big-hit performance. The whole package is based around Trek’s Full-Floater suspension design, which positions each end of the rear shock between two moving pivots and gives the bike’s suspension a bottomless feel.

Remedy 29

The 140mm travel Remedy 29 comes in five sizes across three aluminum-framed models, and already has an Enduro World Series win to its name thanks to Tracy Moseley. The 120mm travel Fuel EX is offered in six sizes across four stock aluminum models and four stock carbon models, while also being available through Trek’s Project One custom bike program. Project One gives riders the power to build the bike of their dreams and have it delivered exactly as they want it to any of Trek’s thousands of global retailers.

“The ride quality of these two platforms will surpass the expectations of even the pickiest singletrack connoisseurs.” said Travis Ott, Trek Global MTB brand manager. “Bringing Trek’s suspension tech together with Fisher’s G2 geometry has resulted in amazing trail bikes that are exactly what riders are hoping for from Trek.”
