Every now and then the time comes for our office bikes to be updated, and over the last week or so, the Intense 6.6 Slopestyle has had it’s turn.
The bike has had Fox 36 forks on it since it was new, and after having these Rockshox Lyric 2 Step Air forks turn up in the office, we had to try them out. High and low speed compression adjustment, Flood Gate, and rebound are all adjustable features on the fork, and with the £949.99 price tag, these should be brilliant performers.
And the original Hollowtech 2 XTR crankset has been replaced by a new XT set, with a single 38t ring and a Gamut P40 chainguide. We’ve never lost a chain with a Gamut, and the XT cranks are strong enough for all but the harshest of riders. We’ve also used a Wipperman Stainless Steel chain. It won’t rust, and looks a lot more beefed up than a standard 9 speed chain. That said, the Wipperman is only compatible with single chainring systems…
I’m going to be out on the SS for a while, so I’l keep the blog updated with any events!
