Buying a new mountain bike is arguably one of the most exciting things in life and there are stages of making the important decision as to what best to invest your money in. We’re all guilty of it, bypassing the sub £1000 bikes to drool over the top-end trail machines, but by doing this, are you missing out on a pretty sweet trick? We think so…
Calibre Bikes has already made waves in the mountain bike industry with the launch of their £1000 full-suspension mountain bike, the Bossnut. With the Bossnut V2 already in stores, the Ladies Bossnut is now hot on its wheels with a fresh new colourway, and all the little finishing touches to validate its “women’s specific” label. Still retailing for £1000, Calibre Bikes has not only maintained its value for money but dare I say, improved on it.
Ok, so let’s be realistic here. For £1,000, you’re not going to get a flashy carbon frame, a dinner-plate-size cassette or even the luxury of a dropper post, but that’s not what this bike is about. What you do get is a high-quality alloy frame with a carefully thought out geometry, you get a suspension system which works well and a complete build that doesn’t require a great deal of tinkering with.
