New Deity carbon bars that come in both ‘enduro’ and DH flavours.

Deity Carbon Bars

We’ve long been fans of Deity bars, in particular their Blacklabel ones that made it into our 2014 Dirt 100, but at the same time we are also big fans of carbon bars thanks to the weight saving that they bring to the table. Up until now though we couldn’t have the Deity shape that we love in the form of a carbon bar, but thankfully all that has now changed with the introduction of these two new bars.

The first one I shall talk about is the DC31 Mohawk which is mainly aimed at DH use. That said, we think it has a far wider appeal than that, and talking of wide this one comes in at a full 787mm wide which should cater for even the most extreme tastes. Crucially (for us at least) this bar has the exact same 9 degree backsweep and 5 degree upsweep as the Blacklabel bar that we love, although the rise is higher at 25mm as opposed to 15mm. This isn’t some off-the-shelf bar either, Deity have designed and created their own unique moulds. At 259g (on our scales) it’s definitely competitive weight wise, yet Deity are so confident in its strength that they are offering a full three year warranty along with a lifetime crash replacement plan. They even go so far as to claim that it’s the strongest carbon bar on the market. Bar clamp wise it’s 31.8mm and we like the textured bar clamp area that will help to reduce any chance of slippage. We reckon this is a top bar, simple as that.

The other new bar is the T-Mo Enduro bar, which is the Tracy Moseley signature model. Spec wise it is very similar to the DC31 Mohawk, but this time things are a bit narrower and lower. These bars come in at 735mm wide, have a 15mm rise, and unsurprisingly they are also a little lighter at just 210g. With Tracy not being a big burly bloke we can understand why they’ve made this signature model the width they have, but on the other hand we would have loved it if Deity had also made a 787mm wide carbon bar with this 15mm rise. After all, you can always cut them down and what with bigger wheels appearing even on DH bikes these days we tend to find that more often than not we are fitting lower rise bars in order to get the position that we want. Still, if 735mm is wide enough for your tastes then we reckon you’ll love these bars.

If you want to feel inadequate in terms of speed on a trail (or should I say enduro?) bike then check out Tracy’s video about these bars below…

Overall then we really like these bars. They’re a great shape, are beautifully finished, and they come in a wide range of colours for all you bike tarts out there. If you want to see all the available colours, and the bars in more detail, then check out the gallery below…
