Offset bushings might not be anything new but we thought you might want to know about these ones for two reasons. Firstly they are the cheapest we’ve seen, and we know how much you all love a bargain. Each bush will set you back just a tenner, and that includes 1st class postage to anywhere in the UK. If you live further afield then don’t worry cos these guys already ship them all over the world, and the extra postage won’t be very much.
The second reason why we thought we’d feature them is because unlike so many other companies who are offering offset bushings, these are available in any size you want. Every single bush is custom made to your specification. This is great news for riders out there who have previously struggled to find offset bushes to fit their non-standard frames.
Each bush is machined from brass, a material that may not be the lightest, but it’s strong and very hard wearing, making it an ideal bushing material. Despite the low cost of the bushings this isn’t a cheap material either. The spacers are all made from aluminium and polished on the outside edge.
If you still can’t get your head around how offset bushings work then hopefully the diagram above and the animation below will help.
Basically by shortening the shock (but not reducing travel) they lower the bottom bracket and slacken your head angle. The amount by which they alter it varies depending on the bike and the shock bolt size but you can expect up to a 1.5° change in head angle with 6mm bolts and up to 1° with 8mm bolts. If you’re thinking of running some though you really need to make sure that you’re not going to run into any clearance problems. Of course if you want a smaller change you can just run a single offset bush.
Price: £10 each including 1st class UK postage. International postage is extra.
