If you haven’t already heard of Production Privee then you’ve been missing out. The small Andorran based company has only been around for a couple of years now but we’ve loved everything that they’ve produced. They’ve got a real eye for design, both aesthetic and engineering, and it shows in their work. Basically all their kit works and looks a treat. In the past we’ve featured their superb Shan hardtail frame, but now it’s time for us to show you some of their latest components…
First up is their brand new R2R stem, which like so much of their other kit has had heavy design influences from the world of classic cars. In this case it was the C1, C2 and C3 Corvette that provided the inspiration, and you’ve got to agree that this stem looks pretty amazing no matter what angle you look at it from. This stem isn’t just about looking pretty though as Damien from Production Privee says it was in development for 20 months! That’s a fair old chunk of time, but that’s how long it took to properly test various prototypes, both in the lab and on track. The end result does look stunning, but it’s also stiff, strong, and weighs just 157g. There aren’t many stems that manage to cause a bit of excitement around the Dirt office, but this is definitely one of them.

Keeping with the stem theme for a minute, we now have a very neat little stem top cap which has an integrated spacer. Production Privee are offering these in either 5 or 15 mm height versions, and they’re perfect for those of you that don’t want to cut your steerer tube right down. Although they work well and look good when used with a regular stem such as the one above, these perhaps make even more sense when used with a direct mount stem (a Production Privee make a very nice one of those too). Either way this are a very neat product that like everything else from Production Privee is finished to a very high standard.

These Production Privee LG Bars have actually been around for a while now, but that’s meant that we’ve been able to experience just how good they are. With a 5° upsweep and 8° backsweep these have a great shape, and at 780 mm wide they deliver on width too. Most riders will probably want to cut them down a bit, something that’s made even easier thanks to the cut marks on each end, but if you really can’t be bothered then a 740 mm wide version is also available. One thing we really love about these 7075 double butted aluminium bars though is the markings for your brakes and shifters. These make it a doddle to get them set up evenly both sides and it’s something we’d love to see on all bars. Some other companies are now also doing it, but it was these bars where we first saw it. A properly classy set of bars.

The final product that we’ve received from Production Privee are these offset bushings, and they have to be the pimpest ones that we’ve ever seen. It has to be said that the quality of finish is complete overkill as you’re never going to see the bloody things, but hey it makes you smile when you’re fitting them. Currently they are only sold in 22.2 x 8 mm pairs but that’s one of the most common sizes right now (Santa Cruz, Commencal, Transition etc), and each bush has a 1.5 mm offset, meaning that in total the eye to eye length of your shock will be reduced by 3 mm. Depending on your bike this will result in a head angle change between -0,5° and -1°, and a bottom bracket drop of 5 to 10 mm. Each set of bushes also comes complete with rubber seals to help them last as long as possible. Oh, and in case you are wondering one of the bushes in the photo above is a custom one that’s a different length, and Production Privee are at some point looking to expand the range of sizes that they offer.
