Rhino Goo | Fresh Produce

The market for bike cleaning products is a pretty crowded one but a load of our local riders have been raving about this stuff so we thought we’d get some in and find out why…

Rhino Goo originated in the States and has amassed a great following in the MX world over there, but now it’s being made under licence here in the UK. Here’s what it looks like…

What makes it different to all the other stuff out there? Well Rhino Goo are massively proud of their pH neutral formulation which they reckon is as aluminium friendly as you can get. You can leave this stuff on for as long as you like and it will never cause damage, something which can’t be said for several other cleaners out there. It’s so gentle that you can even wash your hands with it, and it’s fully biodegradable. Despite being so ‘friendly’ it definitely delivers on the cleaning front, it’s easily as effective as anything else that we’ve used. The other point where Rhino Goo reckon they win out over the competition is in the quality of their sprayer. That might not sound like a huge bonus on the face of it but they say that it’ll last you for ages (thanks to both the quality and the fact that their cleaner doesn’t damage the seals) and so after buying your first 1 litre bottle you can save yourself money and buy the big 5 litre refill.

The guys who are making this stuff in the UK have also come up with their own product which they’re also selling under the Rhino Goo brand, and this ‘Rhino Shine’ is possibly even more impressive than the cleaner. Essentially it’s very similar to the kind of silicon spray that we’ve seen (and loved) from other companies, but this is in a simple sprayer bottle rather than an aerosol. We seem to get through aerosols in no time, but we’ve barely made a dent in this stuff. You can use it to help make your suspension silky smooth, or as you can see below you can just spray it on your bike, leave it for an hour or so to evaporate, and hey presto you’ve got one seriously shiny bike.

Here’s one slightly unloved looking top tube…

Here it is just after application (and for a full virtual reality experience you can click play and hear the quality of that sprayer).

And here’s the end result!

Apart from pulling the spray trigger not a single finger was lifted, and it’s so effective that it has even made the matt fade part of the frame shiny!

If you fancy trying out either product then here are the prices and contact details…
