If you’re after an adjustable seatpost for a one–off event like the Megavalanche and don’t want to spend a fortune, or you simply just want to test the water so to speak before you lay down a few hundred quid on something that you’re not quite sure you need, then this new post from Pure Racing/Kind Shock will be the answer to your prayers. Yes, at 659g it’s far from light, and it’s not exactly a ‘looker’, but it does what it says on the tin for a bargain price. It’s actually a modified suspension seatpost and consequently it does still have some suspension movement, but we don’t really think that’s a problem, and on a hardtail it’ll actually be a welcome bonus. You get 3.5” of height adjustment which is operated by the lever under the seat (there’s no remote lever option), and for maximum frame compatibility it comes in a 27.2mm diameter. We don’t think you can go wrong for this kind of money.
