Black Friday: The best downhill bike deals

Big bike bargains

For pure performance and grins, there’s nothing better than a downhill bike. Full stop. Certain websites may question “is downhill dead” but when you actually swing a leg over one of these things that’s the last thing on your mind. There is of course one problem with big rigs, simply they do cost a lot for a (very fun) toy. That’s why this Black Friday will be the perfect time to buy one.

The period before Chrstmas has always been an opportunity for the mountain bike industry to discount old stock but recent years have been different. The big online retailers have finally switched on to the potential of America’s biggest shopping day and are starting to discount some really great kit. Yes, it’s easy to be cynical but also, you snooze you lose!

Black Friday falls on November 24 this year but, if it’s anything like last year, the deals will start ringing in earlier than that – last year Chain Reaction blessed us with four weeks’ worth of deals alone.

Where to look for downhill mountain bike Black Friday deals

As Black Friday is mainly practiced by online giants you may have to limit your expectations on brands a bit here. Most of the direct sale brands will be (or are already) offering discounts and then the likes of Chain Reaction will be following suit.

Here are some of the bikes we reckon you should be looking out for

Nukeproof Pulse

Nukeproof are a massive brand for Chain Reaction and they’ve enjoyed an incredible year thanks to the one and only Sam Hill. The 2017 Pulse is already being offered at 37 per cent off on CRC so why wait until Black Friday itself to get your hands on one!

Vitus Dominer

CRC brand Vitus are another one to keep an eye on. This bike is already super-keenly priced, a discount would make it almost irresistible.

Kona Operator

A few nifty deals on the Operator from across the board. 30 per cent off from Evans on the 2017 model looks like the best to us though

Scott Gambler

Some fairly big reductions from a few shops on Brendog’s steed. Shout out to Tredz for their generous six quid discount.

GT Fury

A third off on Furys from Evans and Tweeks. The Tweeks one is newer but a downhill bike for £1,600 is great for someone just dipping their toes in.

Mondraker Summum

The bike that took Danny Hart to World Cup and World Champs glory has had some serious discounts including 15 per ent off a factory build.

Cube Two15 HPA

We’ve been loving the performance of the Cub downhill bike we’ve been ragging around the woods recently. Grab yourself one on a discount now.

Canyon Sender

Canyon’s website has crashed their Black Friday sales have been so popular in the past. Head over to their website for a weekend of deals.

Commencal

With both the Supreme and Furious possible options, there are a raft of discounts from the Andorran boys. Check out the deals here.

YT Tues

Now thoroughly proven on the World Cup circuit, our favourite downhill bike for years has come into its own. Yt is already offering a “Rampage Drop” of up to £500 off, are further reductions inbound?

HOW TO FIND THE BEST BLACK FRIDAY MOUNTAIN BIKE DEALS 2017

The good news is that we’re gong to be posting them all right here. As soon as they start dropping, we’ll be on it like skate park kids on stickers and shouting about great kit you can get.

One word of advice – have a shopping list, have a budget and stick to them. It’s easy to get carried away on Black Friday but you may end up regretting it if you do.
