It’s great to here Lehikonen is back in the saddle. The first round of the World Cup isn’t until 10/11th of May in Maribor, so that should give the Finnish pinner plenty of time to get back to full speed.
Well, he seems fit enough to lift the bike, not that it’s probably that heavy, but those sort of lifts do hurt the back so he must be alright.
PRESS RELEASE
Matti Lehikoinen back on his bike
Good news at the beginning of the new year! After suffering a training accident in September, fracturing three vertebrae, Finnish downhill racer Matti Lehikoinen is back on a bike again. On time for Christmas he received his brand-new Intense Spider XVP from MS-Intense Factory-Racing. Being in good health he will now start preparing for the upcoming downhill World Cup season. At the end of the month Matti is going to fly to Temecula, California to check out his new 2008 M6 downhill bike.
Matti is absolutely stoked to start riding again. Also Intense President Jeff Steber commented that he is looking forward to work with the Finnish talent on his new bike in preparation for the 2008 World Cup series.
