In preparation for the forth coming World Championships Chris Kovarik raced the G3 Gravity Series in Solvista near Denver. More and more race formats seem to be deviating from the one track, one run system, this one was no exception. Here’s what Kovarik had to say.
“I just raced in Solvista on the weekend its a little ski area outside of Denver the event was called the G3 gravity series Solvista. Basically consisted of 3 races in 2 days on 3 different tracks on the same mountain, tongue twister ! The winner was determined by their overall combined time on the 3 tracks which was pretty cool because the tracks rocked. Although there wasnt much worldcup competition there i still went out hard and managed to win the first 2 races on the saturday with a combined lead of 13 secs. With a convincing lead on Sunday all i had to do was ride strong and take the win but a third of the way into my final i front flatted and just had to keep pinning to the finish. I was 20 secs of the pace on the day but still made 3rd overall and was 1.80 secs off taking the overall win.
Props to the race organizers for putting on an awesome event , well run and good atmosphere ! “
