Bonjour, first day of riding today and it was sweet as. The good news is, you can ride a hardtail at the Mega! okay its a touch bumpy here and there but on the whole it was magic. no punctures, bit of fork problem but whooped up some big rigs, yeehaa.
So with the sun shining high in the sky, we sessioned the 30 minute plus qualifying track, which includes a new rocky section, and a little bit of snow,oh and also the start has been changed to include the tightest Mother Hubbard of a hair pin ever, its gonna be a blumin bun fight on the first corner for sure. Ha, 250 riders flat out into that one, Carnage.
Today was also Sprint Avalanche day, some big names on the start sheet Mick Hannah and Karim Amour, in the end Glenn Haden of Nzl took the win on the 4minute plus course with Sam BLENKINSOP third, im waiting for full results but think quite a few Brits made the top ten.
Voullioz has been spotted cruising around, also Eric Carter should be racing ,the Cannodale Cut team are also razzing around doing their thing.
the air in the mountains is pretty thin and you get out of breath just ordering breakfast, let alone pedalling.
Victor rags it down the qualifying track, hes pretty quick for a photographer
you get some weird dudes out here
First run down Ed decides to drop off the dodgy French shed and ends up collecting gravel.
We’re heading up to the start of the Mega tomorrow to check out the axle deeep snow, should be a hoot, Au Revoir…Billy
