– 4-Cross Track In Making
4X track designer Phil Saxena has been getting up early these days here in
Maribor to avoid the mid-day heat. He has been here since last week,
building the brand new 4X track on the new Maribor venue by the gondola
bottom station. He will be here until Thursday and then he’ll be back the
week before the event to fine tune the track.
The new track on the moderate ski slope will be taking a trip into the woods
and back and will feature some elements that were never seen before in 4X
racing.
More on this with Phil’s commentary later this week when he, the crew and
the machinery make it to the bottom of the hill.
You can read what Phil is up to on his blog: Click Here.
– Webcam On Spot
The http://www.pohorje.org/ website presents a new webcam, showing the
bottom of Čop ski run, the location of finish area for all three disciplines
of Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup final (olympic cross country, downhill
and 4-cross) this September.
These days you can catch a glimpse of Phil and big yellow machines. You’ll
need a bit of luck since you can only see the finish area and the last pile
of dirt. But the camera will be getting a wider lens soon so you will be
able to see more of the venue.
– Online Accreditation Form
We’ve been acting a bit like the Flintstones, offering only a PDF press
accreditation form. Now here is the accreditation form you can actually fill
out online. It is in the “Press Room” section at http://www.pohorje.org/
