Best dirt jumpers rock and ride with 4LYN.
With the adidas Rock Jam taking place in the evening of 16 June 2007, the organisers of the adidas Slopestyle have created another event highlight that makes a trip to the Saalbach Hinterglemm in Austria’s SalzburgerLand twice as worthwhile.
adidas Rock Jam combines rock concert and dirt jump action. While the best dirt jumpers in the world catapult themselves high up in the air to present their signature tricks, the German rock band 4LYN will perform live on stage facing the action.
4LYN is one of Europe’s hot up-and-coming rock bands. The four-piece band has already performed as supporting act of Guns ’N Roses and was the only German band to be invited as showcase artist to ’Musexpo’ in Hollywood, the most important music fair in the world. The live concert at the adidas Slopestyle is one of the first at which 4LYN will present songs from their brand-new album ‘Hello’. Ron ‘Braz’ Cazatto (song), René “Russo“ Knupper (guitar), Björn ‘Deee’ Düßler (bass) and Sascha ‘Chino’ Carillho (drums) are already looking forward to the Rock Jam session, first and foremost because they will present their new music video which they filmed together with adiridas Niels-Peter Jensen, Joscha Forstreuter, Marius Hoppensack and Pierre-Edouard Ferry.
“We believe that mountain biking and music complement one another perfectly”, says event director Mike Hamel. “Creativity, personal expression, freedom, rhythm and adrenaline links musicians and freeriders. Both are rock stars in their community. With our Rock Jam we bring both worlds together.”
Live concerts at mountain bike events are not new. What’s special about the adidas Rock Jam though, is that the concert will not take place subsequent to the dirt jump contest, but that the band will pay live during the jam session. Spectators won’t miss a thing as the massive dirts shaped by Californian Carter Holland are located directly in front of the stage. The riders jump towards the band. They start off a huge ramp at the verge of the expo area which will be located on the parking lot of the Schattberg X-press arena in Saalbach this year.
In addition to eight invited riders, four more dirt jumpers can qualify for the Rock Jam with 4LYN. The one hour jam session with live concert will take place between 21h00 and 22h00.
Before the music bike rock show kicks-off, 4LYN and the adidas will present their joint project – a state-of-the-art music video for 4LYNs latest single ’Hello (For You I’m Dying)’ which will be released end of August.
