Alan Milway beamed over this news about the Redditch facility which he reckons looks ideal for 4x riders as well as BMXers.
Last night saw the first open evening of the newly built Redditch BMX track. This midlands facility might be geared towards our 20inch siblings, but with the track and club having strong input from local lad Scott Beaumont it will certainly be a great training ground for 4x
racers- who at the moment mostly head down to Leamington Spa for gate practice or any sort of purpose built track.
The whole set up looks first class; surrounded by fencing, flood lit for winter riding and a dedicated club house for meeting, changing and eating it will surely host many a competition as well as attracting many a mid week rider.
The council arrived to have a snoop about, get a demo of the new gate in action and watch a lot of local riders circulate the track.
Although not open to the public just yet it was a chance for them to see riders in action and see the progress. It was only when a certain Martin Murray arrived with brother Stephens two little boys did things really get impressive- incredible to watch him manual entire technical sections. Stephen Murrays boys were both getting stuck in too and it was great to see them so keen on riding their bikes with ‘Uncle Martin’.
The track is due to Open in early July and more infor can be found at

P.S Incase you’re wondering where Scott Beaumont was at Leogang, well he is recovering from ligament damage sustained in a 4x crash in Maribor and is undergoing physio at Birmingham City football club. I would say ‘intensive’ but Scott has had to ask them to ‘stop tickling and really work on it’! He’s able to spin the pedals but not get the power down at the moment.
Last weekend was a good weekend to be sat on the sofa out injured with MotoGP, Motocross GP, World Cup football and freecasters Leogang footage to watch, but it looks like he’ll be back in action and fully fit for Val di Sol World Cup round.
