Olivier Bossard – the return of the Obsys

A legend reborn

Photos: Jones

If you want to talk about bonafide mountain bike look no further than Olivier Bossard. The man who revolutionised how we think about bike suspension systems is still innovating from his base in Toulouse and his latest creation is something very special indeed.

The original Obsys (Obstacle System) fork became the pillars on which the success of Vouilloz and Chausson were built so to bring out a new fork with the same name is a huge statement.

Down in the south of France, we went to chat to one of the biggest brains in suspension design. What we came back with was plenty of food for thought on fork weight, the importance of fatigue and the potential for a new dh bike in the pipeline. The full interview is above.
