Kelan, 21, bested the foxes (Gee Atherton, Colin Ross and Loic Bruni) and a field packed with World Cup riders including Jacob Dickson and Phil Atwill, on a beaten and greasy track in Rostrevor.
Kelan opened up a gap on the top climb and was able to cruise home comfortably. He said: “Everyone wants to get off the line first, I picked my lines carefully and made it through the carnage in one piece. I stayed focused, ripping down the mountain and cruised on from there. It was insane!”
It was an all-Irish podium with James MacFerran second and Conor Bate third.
There was also a second race after the main event, a head-to-head between Loic Bruni and Greg Callaghan that Greg took by a whisker, the footage is going to be insane!
