Steve Peat – Downhill Mountain Biking will soon be available as game application for the iphone. If you’ve got one of those modern telephone devices and you’re interested it’ll be launched at WC round 2 at Fort William.
Looking at the screen shot below it appears that Peaty is wearing a tight lycra spiderman outfit while riding the Wharncliffe round of the World Cup.
Steve Peat has joined forces with the creative and mobile technology agency, Apposing to develop the world’s first ever downhill mountain bike game application for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad and it’s sure to be popular. The revolutionary concept will take the reigning world champ into the virtual world of gaming and the launch will coincide with the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup event at Fort William, Scotland on 5-6 June.
The game will feature real-life professional riders (starting at launch with Steve Peat), a wide range of music and courses from around the globe, which includes Peaty’s home track of Wharncliffe in Sheffield. In addition, the company plans to continually add new content to keep the game fresh and appealing; allowing the player access to the newest bikes and kit on the market. This content can be accessed via the virtual 3D bike shop and players can acquire additional kit/items easily through in-app purchasing via the App Store for a very small cost. This gives the game a unique feel and allows the user to make a completely bespoke game of courses, riders, bikes and gear tailored especially to their needs!
Being the first App of its kind, ‘Steve Peat – Downhill Mountain Biking’ takes full advantage of Apples technology by providing players with unique interactivity capturing the fast and frantic game-play derived from this extreme sport,” said David Brown, managing Director of Apposing.
Steve Peat commented “We are confident that this game will raise the bar within the extreme sports genre, while appealing to new and existing fans including the mountain biking community.”
