Australian 4x riders Sam Willoughby and Caroline Buchanan rip it up at the first UCI SX World Cup race in Madrid.

Wiloughby won the mens event and the Cannon Buchanan came third in the ladies just behind British star ,and one time 4x hopefull, Shanaze Reade.

Quite a few World Cup 4x riders were in attendance, Luke Madill (he’s raced 4x hasn’t he?) finished 10th overall, is Liam Philips (I’m sure he’s dabbled with the 4x too?) he finished 22nd overall, Rinderknecht 31st, Prokop 36th, Joost Wichman 58th, Dan Atherton didn’t make the cut in 89th. Someone is saying that Rafa Alvarez may have broken his leg.

I haven’t had chance to watch any of it yet (check the Freecaster player below) but the track sounded BIG…

“A Supercross BMX track is no joke. When you ride trails you kinda have an idea on where to build the landing. The first jump in Madrid was 11.3 meters followed by a 12 meter long triple jump. Pretty nuts and respect to the racers who jumped it, including the girls. ”
