Fresh in from our visit to IceBike is a box full of hardware from Gamut. We take a look at this good looking, stealthy range of pedals, stem and chainrings from the USA.
Gamut started way back in 1999, when Juan Graziosi started making chain guides with his father, initially just for personal use. Word spread and he started selling them at local races. Soon after this developed into a proper rider-owned company which then became Gamut USA as we know it today. Their aim was (and still is) to develop and produce high quality, easy to install mountainbike products with a simple and clean aesthetic.
‘After all, we wanted to ride our bikes not work on them’
If you’re familiar with Gamut then it will probably be their chain guides that you’ve used. They produce an extensive range suitable from trail through to DH and have a reputation for a high quality finish and build. It’s all solid stuff, yet light and good looking.
Gamut have spread their wings over the last few years and with them acquiring the brand Point One Racing back in 2014 have spent a good amount of time fine-tuning and developing a top end flat pedal along with bars, a stem and a revised range of chainrings. We check out what they’ve got in their line up for the 2016.
