AVID CODE BRAKES

Now if the truth be told these aren’t the exact brakes that we wanted to feature, as it turns out that the ones we’ve used and loved aren’t strictly available as an aftermarket product. You see some bike companies (and racers) have been fitting X0 levers with Code callipers, and it’s an incredible combination. Lack of power is something that you’ll never encounter with these brakes, regardless of which lever you run, but we just especially like the feel of the X0 lever, plus it’s a fair chunk lighter than the Code lever. That said, the Code lever will stand up to crashes far better than the X0 one, and it’s still a great feeling lever. Only you can decide if it’s worth trying to track down the separate components to build our favourite setup, but either way you’ll have some fantastic brakes for DH use.
