Josh Bryceland and Phil Atwill – Bonus Section

ASOBP Bonus Section - 5 Things you wouldn't know...

Words and Filming: Tom Caldwell
Photography: Ben Winder

Phil Atwill and Josh Bryceland had so much fun filming A Slice of British Pie, that we had enough to make a bonus segment, and to be fair, anything that involves these two in the same section, is always going to be a bonus. You can expect the same, if not more, of the antics you’ve already seen of these two at the beginning of the film.

With the fun we had filming this project, and the riders we used, it’s easy to forget that they are some of the best riders in the world. The honesty of seeing them in this type of environment makes us remember why we all jump on our bikes and head to the dirtiest, steepest UK hills we can find, week in, week out – quite simply to have fun with your friends.

HERE’S 5 THINGS ABOUT the bonus section YOU WOULDN’T KNOW WITHOUT FILM MAKER TOM CALDWELL TELLING YOU…

There’s no location animation to say where this segment was shot. It’s at Delamere Forest in Cheshire, where parts of Earthed 3 were filmed, with Peaty and Pagey on hardtails. It fell into disrepair, but is now back with a bang!

‘Die Hard Darren’ snapped his chain whilst filming, but soldiered all day and then went on to send the road gap, and threw an X-up in for good measure.

Kenzie Nevard is 10 years old. And he’s already hanging with the big boys. This kid is insane!

The soundtrack was custom written and recorded by Ryan Pinder of Howl Studios in Sheffield. It was saved for this segment as the encore to really finish the film off in style.

Josh Bryceland was amazed by Phil’s attempts to flair a quarter pipe cut out of a bank. It was tiny, greasy, and going dark.

Big thanks to Bell Helmets and Zyro for help making this section come together. Watch the full film HERE.
