Thinking of South Africa may induce flashbacks of a pedally purgatory where you could get a World Championships podium on an enduro bike but fear not, there’s more to this country than Pietermaritzburg.
In this video Hannah Barnes shows that if you want some trail thrills then South Africa has plenty on offer. She heads to the scorched wilderness of Stellenbosch that was gutted by a fire a few years ago. However this turned out to be a good thing for the area as mountain bike trails were given a heap of funding creating a one of the best riding destinations in the country.
