If that’s it then you a missing out big time. The southwest has some of the most gnarly and extreme spots to ride in the country and a truly grass roots riders run race series, Woodland Riders Racing!
WWR has been running races at Tavi woodlands and Gawton gravity hub since 2010. These sites are both run by an awesome team of downhill riders who give up their free time to bring you some insane trails that push you are your bike to the absolute limits. Both sites are funded by day passes and membership which is available at www.gawtongravityhub.co.uk
Gawton Gravity Hub has 4 main trails including everything from a red to a double back, it also has the rattler jump track and a pump track with a 5th track due to open next year. Flyup provide a uplift service on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday if you don’t fancy the push up.
Tavi woodlands which is ran by the same team of enthusiasts has over 11 downhill tracks full of features and will truly test your abilty of riding natural roots.
The 2017/2018 winter race series in already underway with two races completed so far one on each site and both sold out within weeks of going live on British cycling. At these events you get everyone from the little rippers to world cup riders including the steve peat syndicate rider Jay Williamson.
