Tomas Slavik to race British 4X rd2 in Falmouth

Schwalbe British 4X Series – Round 2 – Falmouth, Cornwall

After seeing the photos and video on Dirt Website the current 4X Pro Tour Champion is making the special trip over to race on this  brand new track in Falmouth.

Will Evans track builder and racer

After a fantastic start to the 2013 Schwalbe British 4X Series in Afan 2 weeks ago, the series now moves onto a new track in Falmouth, Cornwall. Will Evans, one of the country’s fastest Elite 4X riders has been given an open field to build his dream track and the results look absolutely fantastic.

Start straight under constrction

The new track has had a lot of support in Falmouth with a view to a new club starting and regular races being held at the new facility. With camping available on site with electric hook ups available, toilets and showers, the venue looks set to become a jewel in the British 4X Series.

The track itself is huge. With 11 corners and 4 of them being flat or off camber, this will be a true test for the riders this weekend. A long start straight, pro line doubles, rocks, logs, off cambers and huge berms have all been added into Will’s vision for the perfect 4X track. Without a doubt it will provide some amazing racing. Fun for all and a challenge for the fastest riders was the design brief and Will Evans has delivered.

As if all that was not enough, the beach is just a 10 minute walk away!

Falmouth Beach

At round 1, Britain’s fastest 4X riders Katy Curd and Scott Beaumont dominated all day and took the wins. Both riders will be racing this weekend, but round 2 will not be as easy for them though.

Tomas Slavik – Can anyone beat this guy this weekend?

In the men’s, Tomas Slavik, the 2012 4X ProTour Champion and Felix Beckeman, the 2012 4X European Champion are flying over to race in their preparation for the first 4X ProTour event in 3 weeks. The new RSP team mates will be looking for the win and will be entertaining the crowd with whips over the pro line all weekend! Lewis Lacey, Isaac Mundy, Nate Parssons, Tom Dowie, Duncan Ferris and of course Will Evans will all be looking to upset the form books and create an upset. This is 4X so expect the unexpected. The Elites will undoubtedly be on fire so don’t blink during the racing because you might just miss them!

Felix Beckman – King of the Whips?

In the women’s, round 1 had a huge entry and the riding was really strong. It looks like there will be a few fresh faces again at round 2 to add some spice to the mix. Cara Murray looked like she has had a very constructive winter training as she came out fighting at round 1 and will definitely be challenging Katy all the way. Suzanne Lacey the 2012 British Series Champion will be looking for a better result after a 5th at round 1. Jess Greaves, Clare Pollard and Mabel Mundy will all be fighting for the win as well.
