Race Preview – Schwalbe British 4x Series Round 7 – Redhill

This weekend (September 18th) sees the seventh and final round of the 2011 Schwalbe British 4X Series take place at Redhill, Gloucestershire.

The 2011 Series has been the best ever here in the UK and we are looking forward to finishing the Series with a bang at Redhill.

Race Preview – Schwalbe British 4x Series Round 7 – Redhill, Gloucestershire, 18th September

Redhill is probably the most famous 4X track in the UK and we are looking forward to a fantastic weekend, especially because the guys and girls at Redhill have made some pretty major track changes since the series was last there, adding 4 new turns and quite a few new jumps and lines.

Redhill is famous for being one of the most flowing tracks in the UK, with multi lines and high speed for the riders, the track is also perfect for spectators to see every inch of the track.
The Elite class in 2011 has been absolutely fantastic. Every moto and every final has provided edge of your seat racing, drama and surprise. One rider though has shown real consistency. The 2011 Schwalbe British Series overall has already been sewn up by Scott Beaumont, who has returned to his best this year winning 4 of the 6 rounds so far. However the Elite racing this weekend will be truly superb, because the race for 2nd overall is truly on…. Nathan Parssons, Pat Campbell Jenner and Scott Roberts will all be fighting for that 2nd step on the overall podium. With the successful return to racing by Lewis Lacey at SW Extreme a month ago, Martin Ogden back from his BMX duties, Billy Cheetham, Tom Dowie, Jake Ward and Will Evans all riding at their best, the racing, as ever, will be fantastic in the Elites.

In the women’s Elite class, the overall is still very much up in the air. Suzanne Lacey is sat in the driving seat at the moment, but Nichola Anderson is hot on her heels. Nichola, who sustained a massive knee injury at SW Extreme, will be back this weekend fighting to try and win that overall title. However it will be tough as Suzanne has been super consistent this year and the flowing track at Redhill will really suit her. Be prepared for the Elite women’s overall to come down to the final on Sunday. We must also mention Cara Murray. Cara has put as many hours as anyone into the construction of Redhill and she rides there every week without fail. She will be lightening fast and the girl to beat on the day.

As ever all other categories will be hotly contested. Juveniles, Youths, Juniors, Seniors, Masters and Vets will all be there battling it out and fighting for the overall series positions.

The Team Cup – The Team Cup is like the constructors championship in F1

The points have been close all year for this very prestigious title of being the highest points scoring team of 2011.
Team Nakedracing have been leading nearly all season but with Team Idenitti, RLS4x, Slam69 all closing in on the points. Last years winners 44 Racing are in 6th place but it all comes down to this very last race where every single moto point will make the different between winning and losing.
