Mont Saint Anne, revered and feared in equal measure. Rain dominated headlines on day 1 of practice here in Canada, a torrential storm dampened spirits and riders as the heavens opened and practice swung between on, then off, then back on again.

Danny Hart laid down a marker in timed practice, with only Loic Bruni and Troy Brosnan able to better any of his splits. Meanwhile in the women's both Tahnee and Rach had cruisers, scoping lines and familiarising themselves with a track that looks set to humble more than a few this weekend.

With an improved forecast on the horizon for the remainder of the weekend, times should tumble as riders get some real time on track under their tyres. Pierron comes into the weekend as the man with the target on his back and a formidable command in the overall, meanwhile, Rachel has Tahnee breathing down her neck in the race for the women's overall.
