Slovenia's Monika Hrastnik has caused the shock of the season so far as she qualified fastest in Val di Sole by ten seconds. Her time of 5:07.522 was 17 seconds faster than her top time in timed training yesterday.
In the pissing rain, the European champ picked up her first World Cup podium last race in Leogang and has now backed it up with a stunning run in Val di Sole. Tahnee Seagrave was second, she lost 12 seconds between split two and three so we can only assume she had a problem - the same with Rachel Atherton who was also up on Hrastnik's time but ended up crashing twice on her way down.
Emilie Siegenthaler, Tracey Hannah and Mariana Salazar make up the rest of the top five.
Series leader Myriam Nicole didn't drop and recorded a DNS, we'll get the lowdown on what's happened there, and everywhere else, as soon as possible
