Round 7 of the BC Cup and the last in the series took place over the weekend in Mt Washington, BC. The Stevie Smith memorial race, held annually, convened on Stevie's backyard of Vancouver Island for a nailbiting climax to the series.
With a host of familiar World Cup faces in tow, including Magnus Manson and Mark Wallace, the Elite field was stacked. A biblical downpour turned the usually dusty and dry trails into an altogether different beast. Exposed roots and rock caused mayhem in the wet and it became a war of attrition for many, a battle for survival among the quagmire of mud and water.
Magnus Manson delivered on his World Cup pedigree to clinch his second victory of the series ahead of Kirk McDowell and Forrest Reisco, teammate Mark Wallace finished 4th.
