Instabangers – Leogang World Cup 2016 day 1

All the action from the hill

Track walk day today in Leogang and there are two main stories emerging – Firstly are a few track changes but more importantly, it’s also raining!

Here are the riders’ reactions to the latest Leogang track:

Rachel Atherton

Someone’s been getting arty with a chainsaw and the result is this awesome tribute to Stevie Smith who won the 2013 World Cup series with an amazing run here.

More tree carvings ✨✨✨

Josh Bryceland

This new section is called the Wood of Fame. It has the names of all the previous winners carved into the trees and, more importantly, brings some much needed tech to the Leogang course.

The weather

This photo pretty much sums up the conditions in Leogang right now, with up to four inches of slop in some places

In fact, the jumps are the driest place on the course, but there are still puddles on the take-offs

Team Propain Dirt Zelvy

Strong results for our lads in Fort Bill means they’re frothing for it here.

Manon Carpenter

Manon met some of the locals after the track walk, let’s hope she fared better than this guy.

Steve Peat

Peaty is on site this weekend and enjoying a post-trackwalk leberkässemmel (corned beef in a bap to you or I).
