World Cup Weather Bulletin Friday

Update:12.00 noon here in PMB, the mud tyres are on the spare wheels for most teams, but this is just some African voodoo which means it won’t rain with the spikes on standby. It’s still looking dry, locals say it won’t rain till tonight.

A couple of showers this morning followed by occasional rain and drizzle this afternoon.
Winds from the SSE at 14 km/h.

Locals say the track is an ice rink in the wet.

Early start and a busy day for Dan Atherton. His schedule looks like:
06.30am Breakfast
08.00-12.30 Downhill training
13.30-14.45 Downhill qualifying
15.15-16.30 4x training
16.45-17.30 4x qualifying

That’s a busy day by any standards.

Another guy doing the double is Cedric Gracia. However CG crashed in 4x practise yesterday tweaking his knee, he said this morning he’ll do a few warm up runs and see how it feels, if it’s bad he’s going home.

rain for pietermaritzburg round one mountain bike downhill world cup
