For the first World Cup round of 2016, the racing circus headed to the French/Spanish border and to the town of Lourdes, nestled in the middle of the Pyrenees. There was no religion going on this weekend, don’t worry, just some of the tightest racing and WORST CONDITIONS that we’ve seen at a World Cup for a long time.
Team Propain Dirt Zelvy enjoyed a great week down in the mountains, that last year were roasting hot and dusty. Check out all the bicycle, skateboard and spaghetti related endeavours below in the team video!
Hot off a 2nd place last weekend at Ae Forest BDS, Scottish whippet Innes Graham was hot on the chase to get back into the world cups and take on the French brute of a track. He was feeling very confident on the bike, and handled the horribly greasy qualifying conditions brilliantly to then put down a solid race run as the sunshine came out to play, finishing 33rd. “Well, y’know Tommy’s ten grand camera survived witnessing the weekend so I thought I better have a good race to match. It was mint, so dry! It dried out so quick and I was thinking about putting dry tyres on. But I thought just run what I’ve got and what I know and it paid off. Track was mega dry, bike was sick, I think I could have gone a lot faster though as I didn’t know how hard to push due to conditions.”
