Troy Brosnan has qualified fastest at the 2017 Vallnord World Cup.

He put down a time of 4:08.349 to give himself nearly a second's breathing space over the rest of the field. This is the first big statement form the Canyon team on the World Cup circuit and it comes on the back of Troy's win in Crankworx Les Gets. Brosnan getting up to speed on the deadly Sender could well be a potent combination for the rest of the season.

Brosnan is keeping in touch. Andorra could be interesting

Second place went to series leader Greg Minnaar with his Syndicate team mate Loris Vergier backing him up in third.

A casual look for Loris today but his riding was anything but casual as he yet again showed his immense pace on the Santa Cruz

Vallnord hasn't always been a happy hunting ground for Gwin but he seemned more at home this weekend as he piloted his Tues into fourth.

Gwin's best result here is a tenth, which would be good enough for most. Was he really trying last year though?

Loic Bruni rounded out the top five

The lack of forecast rain meant roost out in the open... and plenty of it.
