Myriam Nicole and Danny Hart go fastest in timed training – the one thing connecting them? They both ditched 29ers  and went back to 27.5 inch wheels this weekend.

In fact, Mondraker, Commencal and Scott now have no riders on board with the bigger wheels and from the sounds of it, it’s going to stay that way for the next few races at least. That just leaves Intense and Santa Cruz with big wheelers in the shed – maybe there’s something in that Californian water?

We had a chat with Danny Hart, Brendan Fairclough and George Brannigan about why they decided to revert to 27.5 inch wheels. Was it that the bikes weren’t ready, were they not used to them or are 29ers simply a load of old rubbish? Find out above.
