Tahnee Seagrave wins women’s World Cup in Mont Sainte Anne

Tahnee takes win number two

Tahnee Seagrave has won her second World Cup of the year in Mont Sainte Anne as Myriam Nicole extended her lead at the top of the series overall to 110 points.

Seagrave laid down an untouchable run in an action packed and loose event for the women. Myriam Nicole was second and Tracey Hannah finished third with a puncture.

First woman on track, Vaea Verbeeck kicked off things well on her home track and was in the hotseat as the top ten qualifiers started to roll in.

Verbeeck stayed in the hotseat until Eleonora Farina put twelve seconds into her despite a crash and skipping the last jump – the European champ was flying!

Miranda Miller was unable to beat Farina but Siegenthaler would be next to take the hot seat by twelve seconds.

In to the top five and Marine Cabirou looked to be on a stormer before a front puncture threw her off and ruined her run. Eager to make up for yesterday, Tahnee Seagrave looked fast from straight out of the gate and was in danger of catching Cabirou at the third split. Despite a squirley rock garden she slotted into first by 12 seconds.

Rachel Atherton couldn’t quite find the pace to match Seagrave but pulled out the most incredible save of the year on the open rocks, so all eyes turned to the title contenders, Hannah and Nicole.

Hannah got a puncture but still managed to nurse it down into third on the day, salvaging valuable points for the overall. Nicole looked to be struggling right out of the gate but couldn’t match Seagrave’s pace through the technical sections and slotted second.

We’re super stoked for Tahnee and it’s awesome to see the title race still up for grabs in the final round of the women’s series – bring on Val di Sole!
