Sam Hill Will Race Lenzerheide World Cup…

Sam Hill will race this Saturday’s Lenzerheide World Cup… and if that isn’t enough to get his fans (everyone?) worked up into a frenzy, the track’s gradient, its dust and its inside lines should push each and every one of them/us to tipping point. Although it isn’t the most complicated of tracks – it is largely man made – it will still favour those with the strongest bike handling skill down to its steep nature.

Hill has been out of action all season long after a crash at home just before the first round of the season in Lourdes put him out of action with a shoulder injury. But time at home watching what is happening out at the races, particularly as the Aussie was on form at the end of the 2014 season, should only have made Hill even more hungry for wins.

As Sam himself put it when we spoke to him earlier, ‘there are some nice insides…’ on the wholly widely taped, flat out freefall track. We are expecting dust explosions (it’s forecast to remain well above 30ยบ right up to race day incidentally) from top to bottom. In typically downplayed fashion Hill said, ‘I thought I’d come over here and have a go.’

Will Hill have what it takes to better Aaron Gwin, the man who can win a World Cup with no chain? That’s a tall order, but if there’s anything that says ‘danger’ about this event it is Sam Hill back on track.
