Here we go then! World Champs are rolling and on Sunday we'll have four new Rainbow Stripe holders. The venue is Lenzerheide - it's far from a universally loved track but that won't stop this race crowning one of the wildest race seasons in years in equal fashion.
World Champs can be a tricky race to manage. With five solid days of riding (compared to three at a World Cup), you can tire yourself out, peak too soon or, on a track as high-speed as Lenzerheide, freak yourself out before the racing rolls around. Yesterday was an easy intro, track walk on familiar ground with just some slightly tweaked woods sections but today the riders will throw their new rigs down the mountain for the first time.
Time to get the ball rolling!
