2017 World Cup overall final standings

Who finished where in a weekend of big changes

There probably weren’t many who would have predicted these standings this morning. Let’s get into it after a drama packed day.

Junior Men

Finn Iles walked it in the juniors this year and was just 20 points off the perfect season after Matt Walker bested him in Fort William. Sylavain Cougoureux kept it consistent to take second. A no show from Joe Breeden saw him slip behind Walker into fourth. Kade Edwards grabs fifth in a stellar first year on the World Cup circuit.

Women

Fourth place would have been enough for PomPon to take the overall but she got the job done with a second place finish. Tahnee grabs her third win but a few “crap qualifiers and crap races” (her words) meant she let the overall slip away.

Tracey Hannah slipped to third but her focus will now turn to Worlds on her home track, we can’t wait to see what she has in store.

Men

In a title race that ended with a whimper not a bang, Gwin claimed top spot with breathing room to spare. Minnaar’s disastrous puncture saw him slip form first to third as Troy Brosnan also leap frogged him for second.

A late charge from the French saw Loic Bruni and Loris Vergier round out the top five.
