British Downhill Series 2017 dates announced
Six rounds of top tier racing
The British Downhill Series is, without doubt, the best national series in the world. We'd go so far to say it's even more prestigious than the IXS Euopean Cup.
It doesn't only attract the very best of Britain's bubbling hotpot of talent, but the best international riders also come to chance their hand on our notoriously technical tracks.
2017 will see six dates of furious action from April through to Spetember and we can't wait. Madison Saracen wrapped up the titles last year with Manon Carpenter and Matt Simmonds dominating. Will they be able to defend their titles again this year?
The headline news is that Hopton will be a BDS venue for the first time (although it has hosted the national and English champs in the past). It's a mainstay of the Pearce series and it's great to see it step up to the big leagues for 2017.
Nant Gwrtheyrn (aka Nant G) is back for the first time since 2011. The track is now being uplifted again by the boys from Antur Stiniog and should be a great way to kick off the season.
Fort William, Rhyd-Y-Felin, Moelfre and Llangollen all return and we've heard Llangollen will be using the legendary woods track next year.
