New season, new kits. I think we’ve finally worked out who’s who on track in the office (it's always a bit confusing at the start of the year) so it’s time to find out who’s the best dressed.
Our opinion is that Fox have got it bob-on this year - blocky, low-key, single colours are in and loud, fluoro, moto-inspired kits are out. Basically, what we're saying is you're unlikely to see a return of Sam Hill's half pink, half yellow jumpsuit anytime soon.
Bound to be controversial but just a bit of fun, here’s our ranking of the best kitted-out riders of 2018. We know that riders change kits throughout the year, so this is just a look at the first two nationals and Losinj. Let us know who you would have at number one on social media
World Cup rider kits ranked
1. Laurie Greenland
White kits have always been hard to love but there’s a whole raft of them coming in this year and, when done right, it turns out they look great. Super simple and bold from Laurie. So cool.
2. Finn Iles
He may have turned to the vlogging dark side but at least his kit still looks good. Finn’s plain yellow jersey marked him out as the most-recognisable rider on the hill. The mint-green bike is a stunner too.
3. Luca Shaw
Luca has also gone for white and black, keeping it simple and looking fresh.
4. The YT Mob
Black is the new black for YT…. although dark destroyer Gwin could probably make any kit look good, especially with the Stars and Stripes sleeve.
5. Loris Vergier
Another fine kit from Fox, this is a colourway shared by Loris and Tahnee and we’re big fans.
6. Brook MacDonald
White, black and red. Strong.
7. Unno Factory Racing
A standard Fox jersey done well. We love that burgundy colour and it doesn't hurt that they're on that gorgeous bike too
8. Intense Factory Racing
The highest ranked flouro kit and it’s thankfully offset by the grey trousers. There’s no chance of you missing the three Intense boys as they glide down the hill.
9. Danny Hart
Danny’s purple and red kit was a smart start to the year. We know he’s got some more kits planned so we’re intrigued to see where he takes it next.
10. Canyon Factory Racing
White and black last year gives way to nicely done black and white done well this year. Last year’s kit was probably nicer though if we’re being brutally honest.
11. Norco Factory Racing
The blue is super nice on this and you can’t beat three quarter sleeves.
12. Greg Minnaar
Loved the burgundy practice kit, not so much the black race kit.
13. Propain Dirt Six Pack
A loud yellow, black and white from Propain this year
14. One Vision Global Racing
Another nice colour combo but a bit too moto from the One Vision boys. Huge improvement on last year though, that’s for sure!
15. Giant Factory Racing
You know what to expect from a Giant kit by now right? It would be nice to see it switched up a bit.
16. Trek Factory Racing
The all-in-one, flavoured condom look is well off the mark for us this year.
