The sun is still shining here at the Vallnord bike Park in Andorra despite weather predictions for a monsoon.
I had a quick cruise of the pits this morning to sniff out any gossip, but pickings were slim. Views on the course still vary depending on who you ask but most are just getting on with it. High rollers have replaced spikes as the track continues to dry out, though there are some deep ruts cut in from the previous day.
The XC mob are piggybacking this world cup so the pits are twice as busy with a lot of tight lycra going on, some of it nice to look at some of it not.
Actually the XC track looks pretty sweet, although they’re riding it the wrong direction in parts, going up the peachy descents.
Practise continues till 3pm today with 4x qualification tonight. Dan Atherton, who was one of the few to hit the big lines yesterday on the 4x, reckoned the track was “rad”. Hopefully the soft ground will dry out opening up the big lines again.
Me and Cunny will be roaming the pits this afternoon waggling the camera and mic at people trying to tease out a few interviews.
Stay tuned for more updates.
