The Quarter Master Project – The Biggest Dirt Quarter Pipe Ever Built is Back!

The Quarter Master Project – The Biggest Dirt Quarter Pipe Ever Built is Back!

Last year, with the help of Dan Atherton, BMX ace Bas Keep built the biggest dirt quarter pipe ever created. Now he’s going back to his Quarter Master project with 11 other riders – and he’s making it bigger and better than ever. This thing is going to be mental!

“I had wanted this done for years, but we had never got around to making the time,” the rider told us.

“Everything has just aligned now to make it work, and I’ve been able to choose 11 other guys to come and ride it with me.”

“Photos make it look big but when you actually get up there in person, that’s when you really get blown away by it.”

“It’s a bit of a test, because nobody knows what it’s going to be like. I think the riders are going to be scared, which worries me a little bit, but hopefully we’ll touch on new territories and push forward.”

Quarter Master initially aired late last year, with Keep landing jumps of over 45ft from the 26ft quarter and getting some insane shots in the process. If you missed the video from last year then you can watch it below…

Just in case a dirt jump twice the size of a double decker bus isn’t rad enough, Keep has made a few cool tweeks to the project as he prepares to head back to the Welsh setting on September 1st.

The Englishman continued: “We’re going to have the big quarter pipe again but this year there will be two landings instead of one.”

“We’ve got a big double after one of the landings and also a big hip – a left hip – up against a landing too. There’s a few more obstacles this time!”

“Photos make it look big but when you actually get up there in person, that’s when you really get blown away by it.”

“This is definitely the next level. The first of September is going to be the highlight of my BMX life!”

It’s not just Bas who’s buzzing to get going either. Daniel Sandoval, Anthony Napolitan, Kriss Kyle, Kye Forte, Ruben Alcantara, Mike Clark, Sergio Layos, Matt Roe, Morgan Wade, Tommy Dugan and Corey Bohan are also heading off to ride the ramp next week.

Scottish star Kriss Kyle is super stoked about riding some lines on the giant dirt ramp.

“It’s going to be sick man,” said the rider whilst out on the Red Bull Local Hero Tour.

“It’s intimidating and it’s going to be scary because I’ve never ridden anything like that on such a massive scale, but honestly, I just cannot wait to go.”

“It’s a good list of riders too and they are all friends, so it’s going to be a good time for sure no matter what happens.”

Yes all this may be happening on BMX’s, but we can’t wait to see the results. It’s definitely not every day you see someone hitting a ramp as big as this one, and the fact that they’re going to be doing it on tiny BMX’s just makes it even more impressive.
