Monster Energy’s Sam Hill Defends Gold Medal
CARLSBAD, Calif., (March 26th, 2007) – Monster Energy’s Sam Hill defended his prestigious UCI Oceania Mountain Bike Championship gold medal at Australia’s Thredbo Ski Resort, this past weekend winning the event over rival Nathan Rennie.
Hill used the event on his home turf as a final tune up for the upcoming 2007 UCI World Cup season and NORBA series races here in the States. Hill arrives in the United States on April 4th, then will open the competition season here with the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, Calif.
Named this past year as Australia’s Mountain Biker of the Year, Hill’s highlights last season were his victorious effort at the World Championships in New Zealand back in August, UCI World Cup tour wins in Great Britain and Austria, and an American NORBA Series title.
