Jared Graves ends season early after Finale Ligure crash

Healing vibes out to the former World Champ

Jared Graves’ season came to an early halt yesterday as he crashed out in Finale Ligure.

Despite being pictured in a neck brace and on a stretcher, Graves escaped with a dislocated ankle. It brings to an end his first season on Specialized that includes a win in Colorado but also a number of DNFs thanks to crashes and punctures.

On Instagram, Graves said: “Not how I planned my season to end. Not as bad as it looks, somewhat overkill ambulance protocol for a dislocated ankle. The neck brace was a bit much but the body straps took it to 11.”

Graves currently sits 30th in the EWS rankings and will be hoping for a much less disrupted season next year. Healing vibes go out to Graves and we hope he has a strong off season to come back fighting in 2017.

The Finale Ligure EWS comes to an end today with Martin Maes and Cecile Ravanel leading after day one.
