Go-Pro 3D Helmet Camera Quick test

Check out a quick test of the new Go Pro 3D helmet camera system

We’ve just got the Go Pro 3D upgrade and have had a quick dabble in the world of 3D.

I was just going to show you the video below but then I thought I’ll add a few words about the cam and a few about Quality Street chocolates too.

The 3D kit contains the case and mount, connecting leads and the super snazzy 3D glasses, so you’ll need to supply two 1080p Go Pro Hero cams with the latest firmware installed to make the thing work.

One shutter button operates both cams, so all you do is fire them up press go and record your ride. Next step is upload the two left and right video files to the free Go Pro 3D software, which automatically syncs them up, then simply export your file.

The software allows for a lot of tweaking to be done to the video, we’re still experimenting with what settings work best, so will let you know about that.

At nearly 400g she’s a bit weighty for helmet mounting but ideally suited to the chesty mount without too much flapping about.

If you and a mate both have Go-Pro cameras then this could be well worth a punt.

The 3D kit will cost you £99.99 from www.madison.co.uk

Have a gander at our quick test video below. (It’s from the last section of the new Blue Loop at the Forest Of Dean which is amazing fun.)

If you haven’t got a pair of the cyan/red 3D specs that seem to be regularly available with breakfast cereals then do what we used to do in the old days and buy yourself a tin of Quality Street chocs and in true Blue Peter style make your own pair.

If my chocolate knowledge is correct you will need the coconut eclair and the malt toffee, stay clear of the strawberry ripple.
