Big news down Monmouth way is that Goldie Lookin' Chain are playing our town festival tonight. Whoop Whoop!!!

It's only 24miles down the A449 from Newport to Mon, so this will be like a hometown gig for the GLC boys, get your shell suit on and come on down, you knows it's gonna be a goody!!!

Justin Barcia is a man who knows how to whip.

I asked Moto Magazine editor Ben for a brief explanation of why the moto guys whips are a whole lot better than MTB whips:

"If you listen they’re revving the heck out of the bikes to create enough rear wheel speed to get an extreme gyroscopic effect on the go. An engine has a natural one just from running which is enough to get regular whips back round, along with the natural arc of whip, but those guys really have to take it to extreme to get it back round. They really use their knees and legs to force the bike back round too.

The whole approach to whipping on an MX bike is different though – you always do one from a seated position using the compression and natural rebound of the suspension under engine load to fire you into the arc."

I find this is the only way to travel these days.

Forget Crankworx...the Mid-West Freestyle Canoe champs are where the thrill seekers hang out. Marc Ornstein throws down some insane choreographed boat moves to the banging audio throb of Chris de Burgh, Lady In Red.

The tight anticlockwise bow turn at 4:12 is timed to perfection as de Burgh passionately delivers the poignant line "There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I wanna be But I hardly know this beauty by my side I'll never forget, the way you look tonight..."

Utterly compelling.

May the Face be with you. Actually I'm quitting and joining the darkside...Google+ is where is gonna happen.

This weeks music theme is cycling related songs. Post up your bicycle related tunes and I'll post up the ones I like.

Ed@Dirt says it has to be: be your own pet 'bicycle, bicycle, you are my bicycle'

Hope you have a good weekend, and maybe see you at the GLC hoe down tonight?
